Summer provides so much freedom to create special memories with your little ones. While we are rounding the bend towards the finish line of these school-free days, we love hearing from our clients about what they like to do with their families to soak up every minute before school begins. The adorable family featured in this post loves spending time together, and we had such a great time with them at their summer family photoshoot a couple of weeks back. Their gorgeous outdoor session inspired us to think about some of the other fun and easy activities our clients have suggested over the years for summertime memories! We've curated a few of the fun ideas into this list!

1. Visit a local park.

Lucky for us, Louisiana is the "Sportsman's Paradise" and there are so many fun places to go right around the New Orleans area! This gorgeous venue was the perfect spot for family portraits AND it was fun to explore in the summer air!

2. Schedule a family portrait session.

We know this one is kind of an obvious one for us to say, but we speak the truth! Summertime sessions are stunning! The warm light provides a glow that no other season does. And, seeing kiddos' cute red cheeks from running around on a summer evening is such a sweet memory in photos. 3. Play outdoors with the whole family!

Play a game of tag, capture the flag, or hide-and-go-seek! This means Mom and Dad join, too. Your kids will definitely remember you playing games with them years down the line. And, maybe you can catch a beautiful summer sunset when everyone is cooling down with a popsicle afterwards!

4. Find a local beach.

Even if it's just a little beach on a lake, that won't matter to your kiddos! The waves, sand, and water are all that matter! And, don't be shy about getting in and splashing around with them. As you can tell from these hysterical girls, the beach was a perfect end to our evening shoot!
