If you've got a baby on the way, congratulations!  I know pregnancy isn't always (or usually!) easy, but I'm so glad you're interested in preserving the blur of those first few weeks with a new little human. Your family will change profoundly and it can be hard to remember how tiny your baby was, even a few months later when you've adjusted a little more to this new life.

At OGP, we want to make the portrait process as painless as possible (literally, we'll have a special cushion for you to sit on, mama!). We've got diapers, wipes, snacks, drinks...everything but milk for baby. We've also got clothing options if you'd prefer to use our wardrobe. The studio wardrobe has clean, simple options for mom and dad. And you won't need anything for baby to wear - we've got all the swaddles, blankets, headbands, and furs we'll use here in the studio.

Most newborn pictures on our website are of babies that are 6-14 days old. If you can, schedule with us during your second or third trimester, so we can make sure we have your EDD on the calendar. We only accept a few newborn sessions per month, so we can make sure we'll have a session opening for you in the first couple weeks after your baby arrives. And since a birth date is unpredictable for most babies, we'll just put your EDD down on the calendar to reserve your spot.

At OGP we offer two different options for newborn portrait sessions: in studio and lifestyle at home. Both are simple and classic, with a focus on baby, not props or backgrounds. We'll get a lot of the same types of images at both locations - so the choice really is yours. If you feel like it's easier to come here, where we control lighting and do a little more posing if requested, we'll schedule you for a studio session. If you'd like a relaxed session at home, I'll come to you. After you decide to book with us, we'll schedule your pre-session consultation, and if you're unsure about where you want to do your session, we can go over it then to make sure it's the best decision for you!

Your baby is a work of art...that YOU created!  And I promise, in that haze of post-partum, doing a newborn session will be worth it.  You will never regret documenting this time when your baby was so new, so tiny, so precious. And as far as you being photographed with your baby - I get it, most adults don't love being in photographs, especially not 2 weeks post-partum. That's where I come in -- newborn portraits with mom and dad are all about capturing genuine, loving moments while controlling lighting and angles. (And we've got makeup artists who will make you NOT look like you're operating on 2 hours of sleep.)
